Zoro was my strength, my love, my happiness, my laughter, my peace and my comfort.
I rescued him at 5 months old from the Blue Cross in Birmingham and he changed my life, in fact he saved my life. When I applied for Zoro they rang me and told me we have been matched perfectly for eachother and that was so true, he found me and I found him when we needed eachother most. From that day on it was always just us, we did everything together. Zoro was my reason to get up everyday, my reason to smile and my happiness.
We had 5 amazing years together just me and Zoro and what a 5 years they were. Zoro lived a life in those 5 short years and always showed such strength. He broke his back in 2023 and was paralysed but together we worked hard and got him back walking and running again like the crazy, funny boy he was. We woke every 4 hours for medication, we did physio, I slept on the floor for 15 weeks with him and he made an amazing recovery, he was the strongest boy I’ve ever known.
I told everyone I met about Zoro, whether that was people on the train, in the street or anyone that would listen to me about him. Everyone I came into contact with knew how much I loved Zoro and how much of an impact he had on my life.
My heart is broken, I have never felt pain like this in my whole life, our story wasn’t finished yet, we had so much more to do and so much love to give to eachother. We may have only had 5 years together, but in those 5 years all we knew was love and not many people can say that. You made me the person I am today, you gave me my strength. My life will never be the same without you my sweet boy.
To my Zoro,
Thank you for making me your mummy and for changing my life. The love and happiness you showed me in those 5 years we spent together made my whole life complete. It was always just you and me. My doodlebug, my doodoo’s, my baby. Mummy loves you now and always. Rest easy now my boy. See you soon Zoro
